The one who jumps

That man on the bridge never in his wildest dreams he thought they day would end like this. He would be standing at the edge of this bridge ready to jump. He knew at this height, if he jumped, he would die. But the truth is, this has to be done. It is for his sanity. You may be wondering why? You would understand if you would have had a day like his.

It started with his landlord hounding me to pay the rent. I was going to, soon. Just as he would get his salary. To add to his miserable day his car had a flat and he was getting late to an office so he decided to go by bus.

Public transport is not the best choice for a stressed out individual. Everyone is packed like a can of sardines and there is no breathing space. But he had no choice he had to go. The bus ride was awful he got pushed around, had his toes crushed and got elbowed in the ribs.

Once he reached office he thought his luck would change. Sadly he was mistaken. There were a couple of emails waiting in his inbox. The first one was from the finance team. It was regarding the salaries. They were getting delayed, for another week. Not too happy with the news he decided not to check the other email. He wasn’t very motivated to do much work as a result his boss gave me an hour long lecture about the ideal employee. The day had left him drained. Before leaving he decided to check the unread email in his inbox.

The subject read.

“Stressed? Did life get you down? Why don’t you just jump?”

That seemed like a good idea to him.

That is how he reach the bridge. He closed his eyes took a deep breath and let himself go. He was falling now. His life began to flash. He saw the people who would miss him his friends, family. He realized he was lucky to have them. They had always been there for him, in good times and bad. They will help him now too. All he needed to do was share. He opened his eyes, he was three-fourths of the way down. Only a few seconds left now. “This is it.” He shouted. The bungee cord stretched and pulled him up. He was smiling. This was what he needed. This is how all his days should end.
